Hold your yoyo with your finger with the string around it on the slit.
Let the yoyo roll off your fingers, with a small flick.
Some yoyo's will keep spinning at the bottom called "sleeping" if it does, jerk it up to your hands, if it doesn't sleep do the same thing and jerk it up to your hands.
Catch the yoyo when it's coming up like this.
